Staying with the sheep theme, this piece brings us into the animal’s imagination, dreaming of another world and place while waiting out the winter in the cold llanos of New Mexico
Late spring is Miller Moth season/invasion in New Mexico. I dedicated this sculpture to the cridders. Mixed Media: paper, feathers, found metal, bees wax, faux fur, cholla branches
Discarded Starbucks cups and lids
Wire
40”L, 18”W, 8”D
Starbucks commission
Made from discarded paper coffee cups and plastic lids, wire, acrylic paint.
Dimensions: 40” L, 15”W, 6”D
Made from discarded cups, acrylic paint, sea glass from San Juan Islands, wire
Natural Lichen is applied to a papier mache base. Sea kelp from the Pacific Ocean is then attached.
Photo Credit- Ted Harris, founder of Bespoke Custom Furniture
Made from wire, leather, and block print added
This piece honors the people that suffered egregious losses after the hurricane and subsequent flooding. New York Times cover pictures and articles make up the surface of this bodice. A significant metal "plug" adorns the heart chakra.
Metal Cross (belonged to my mother)
Plaster breast cups- acrylic paint
Condom breasts covered in tissue
Wedding cut short, an avalanche of emotion bursts into a bouquet of chiffon roses.
Linen bodice covered in layers of plaster of paris and adorned with chiffon roses. Forged and welded metal stand
This piece is constructed from objects that make their way near the mouth of the Carmel River Lagoon. As I was walking from Ribera Road bluffs to the River Beach I noticed shards of copper-colored sandbags jutting from the sand like errant teeth points. The colors and texture fascinated me.
The material was not treated in any manner, no stabilizers, dyes, softeners were added. The dress is made from two sandbags and held together with wire tacking.
The "Antlers" are made from kelp and wire.
